My dear daughter
We received a letter from Mary this morn was glad to hear you had both arrived back to the Seminary safely, we heard from Sue yesterday by Elise Gerrish I am very thankful that Sue had a good visit at Westford hope it will do her good we want to hear from her and all about her visit Sue write as soon as you can conveniently. Miss Phimer was in this morn to hear about Harriet you must have had a cold time to ride from Springfield to South Hadley Thursday Sue; I presume you get a seat inside, Friday here was very cold, about 10 below in the morning, it is now Saturday 4 1/2 P.M. moderated a little and looks some like Snow - Mrs Sarah Jane & Miss Susan Jane Stover visited mother yesterday and evening, Sue, Mother thinks your new night dress will [be] better than the ticking of a watch these cold nights, Mary, how did you get along the next day, that is, from Springfield to South Hadley, not very cold but some muddy I presume, did you go up in the Stage and did you find some of the Teachers and Scholars returned when you got there, did any go up with you[.] you had a pleasant time I presume with Mr & Mrs Vermilie [?] I cant write more now we shall hear from you the last of the week
