Dear Frances

I sent your box of pictures on the 21st (last Thursday) I have gotten your coat from the tailors and will probably get the trunk off tomorrow Aunt Mabel did not want it until the first of this week.

It has been a busy week here your Aunt Mamie came up Wednesday or Thursday with her uncle John who has kept the family entertained with mining stories of California and Africa ever since, they went back to N.J. this morning, Joe with her family and Marine went home yesterday but we were only alone for a few hours for Schaefer and a friend came up in his machine just at dark and I suppose they will be here some days.

We have your letter and I have sent it to Aunt Mabel and am very glad to know you had a pleasant trip, got through comfortably and are happy you went keep us posted so that we can feel in touch with you at all times and be with you in spirit as much as possible for of course we are very much interested in your new life. We miss you too dreadfully it will be a quiet and lonely family for some time to come without our big girl[.]

I have no news for you about any house trade, there is nothing in sight but - Mrs Albert wrote me a day or two ago that she had a place near Lakewood. She will send me particulars soon.

We are all well and of course send lots of love to you and good wishes, how did the oral french test come out?

Lovingly
Daddy

[Daddy's handwriting is very hard to decipher. In the second paragraph, it may well be that NJ is really NY, and Joe is John and Marine is Mamie, but Joe and Marine really look different from the expected words.]
