12 March 13My dear Daughter
We have all have arrived, grimed and disappointed at not hearing from you this week, particularly after knowing you were to go to Springfield last Wednesday we were particularly anxious to be sure you were safely back again in the arms of your Alma-Mater. Of course I know that were there anything wrong with you I would be advised by the college authorities and I personally have no special fear for your safety but you can easily understand or at least should realize that your mother worries when she does not have a letter by Tuesday morning and I particularly and earnestly request that you will be sure to send a line or so every week no matter how busy or tired you are for we must know that you are safe and well.
I was very pleased that you regarded my wishes in the matter of the Hartford visit and if you could realize the pleasure your Daddy takes in a dutiful daughter you would I am quire sure sacrifice your own inclinations oftener for the sake of pleasing him. You have no doubt a long time to live and in which to do pretty much as you please, it won't hurt you to take special pain to please him for a while yet.
We are hoping every day to have news from Mr Evans [?] about the supposed [?] survey the last two months have been a heavy drag[.]
Let me hear from you at once if you have not already written and believe me
Always lovingly your
Daddy
