Stanford University, Cal.,

Jan. 13, 1908.

Miss Cornelia M. Clapp,
Mount Holyoke College,
South Hadley, Mass.

Dear Madam:

Your kind letter of December 18th I find on my return from Riverside after two weeks in the sunshine, with automobiling every day, which have brought me into fairly good shape. Rather than straighten out the account of my address, let me send you something of the same kind which I said on another occasion and which is doubtless better worded than was my talk at Mount Holyoke.

With kindest regards to President Woolley, Miss Hooker and the rest of my friends, I am,

Very sincerely yours,
David Starr Jordan

I send the "call." from the Boston publisher. Read it thro' and you will find what you want.
