Dear Dr. Clapp

We are looking again for a professor of Biology and Chemistry - the latter can be secondary - I had supposed that it would be comparatively easy to find one since we pay much better salaries than formerly, but I have been working a month and I have as yet found no one.

We wish a woman who has had some experience in teaching in a College, and we will pay $750 for a temporary engagement, and $1000 for a permanent one, besides living (and travelling) expenses - for the academic year - I hope very much indeed that you will be able to find us someone.

I have been greatly disappointed not to see you this year - I dreamed about you the other night - what do you think of that?

Lovingly
Mary Mills Patrick.
