A Letter Written on Jun 8, 1869

So. Hadley June 8th 1869

Molly dear

This week I shall have to write, I suppose, instead of seeing any of you. It seems two weeks since Mother was here, I have had so many many regrets that I was gone that day, and have thought of so many things that I would like to have said & done while they were here, but they will come again sometime, I know.

Received a letter from Father to night, he says, "everything contributed to make my visit home delightful." I forgot to ask Mother if she is going to N. Y. this summer. I have just got the room swept & dusted & "put to rights" for Wednesday, as we are planning a trip to Mt. Holyoke to-morrow. Miss Clary's section & ours, going about 11 o'clock and get back before supper.

You are enjoying your school I presume, as you like Miss Bridgham so much. Don't get discouraged over Latin. It will pay by-and-by. It is tedious now but when you get the rules learned and translate you will like it, I know. I wish you could have Harkness' Grammer. [sic] I think there are not so many rules in that. The ten-minutes bell rings and I must stop now. Ask Richard if he has forgotten about his oldest sister & also that he owes her a letter.

Yours - Cornelia
