My dear Miss Clapp:

I do not know very much about Sweet Briar College. I only know that it was organized in 1907 on a beautiful Virginia estate and it is my impression that I have seen pictures in some magazine of some new and very pretty buildings. I really do not know at all what the grade of work is or how much style they carry. I should think perhaps after Ruby Sanborn's experience in Washington Seminary, that she might fit the position acceptably. Whether more would be required in the social line than she is capable of, I do not know. Perhaps you can indicate that while she is a good teacher and a good girl she is not a social star.

I wrote to Miss Patrick some days ago regarding Nellie Blanchard but I have not heard anything from her.

Very sincerely yours,
Florence Purington.
