My dear Miss Palmer,

I enclose a note, giving all the parts of my life I should care to have included in your article. I have no pictures of any description to enclose.

Very sincerely yours,
Laura S. Watson.

I spent some 20 years in teaching chiefly in Lawrence Academy at Groton, Mass. St. Johnsbury Academy, and, from 1892-98 as Principal of Abbot Academy at Andover, Mass. I have visited Europe five times, spending in all about six years in travel and study in Germany France, Italy, England and Greece.

For the last twenty years I have made my home in Brooklyn, N.Y. but have removed to St. Johnsbury to make my permanent home here.

My dear Miss Palmer,

I cannot possibly get a photograph of my present self that I should be willing to have published in the Transcript so I shall still have to decline to appear in that way.

But I think it does not matter and I know that some others will also fail.

If the principalship of Abbot Academy was not sufficiently important to be mentioned in the booklet "Into the World of Mt Holyoke" in the list of institutions for which Mt Holyoke has "supplied presidents or principals" I think it may well be left out of the Boston Transcript.

I think it must be a good deal of trouble to you to prepare such an article as is proposed. I wish you success.

Very truly yours,
Laura Watson.
