A Letter written on May 31, 1921

May 31, 1921

My dear classmate, -

Tomorrow will be June 1 and I can no longer delay writing you. I have been hoping all along that May and June would give back to me enough of my health and strength to allow of my being with you for our reunion.

But at last with much hesitation and the keenest disappointment I have to tell you that I cannot go to South Hadley.

My family will not consent to my making the trip and I know myself it is not wise.

Kindly remember me to my classmates "one and all," and assure them how deeply I regret that I am unable to help increase the "per cent" for '71!!

But many of you might easily count for two!

With much love and best wishes for a grand reunion and delightful jubilee,

Your friend & classmate,
Mary Tuttle Bourdon.
