A Letter written on Apr 15, 1921

Apr. 15, 1921

My dear Miss Palmer;

I enclose two pictures of myself [no longer with the letter] - one when graduated, the other some forty years after.

After teaching four years, I married Maltby Gelston of this town, Feb 9th 1875. Had five children. Only one lived - a daughter, Cornelia Giddings, born Jan. 1879. She was graduated at New Haven Normal School and taught about 15 yrs. in this state until needed at home. My husband died in 1917 after a long illness, since which time my daughter and I have lived alone on this Gelston ancestral farm[.]

Sincerely yours,
Sophia Giddings Gelston

(Mrs M. G. G-)

P.S. Of course for the sake of my daughter I accept your offer to return the pictures.

That copy of the Boston Transcript would be desirable to have and I hope to be able to secure one even though I may not be able to attend the reunion.
