A Letter written on May 12, 1921

62 Sherman Avenue
Newark, N.J.

May, 12th 1921.

My dear Miss Palmer,

I should not have neglected answering your note for so long a time, but after it was received was called on the phone by Mrs. Carter, president of the Class, who said she had received your note and would consult the Class about it, and later would let me know what was decided. I have heard nothing from her, and today tried to communicate with her and found she had gone away for some days.

But as you have heard from most of the Class and wish to have the heard from all by the time of your meeting with Dr. Clapp, I am sending what little I have to say about myself.

I was engaged to be married when I graduated and was married about a year later, have always lived in Newark and have led a quiet home life, busying myself with the bringing up of my three children and with Church and Sabbath School activities. Have had many pleasant trips with my husband, including two European trips. My three children are married and I have five grandchildren.

I have had no pictures taken of myself in many years. I have a photograph taken twenty five or thirty years ago, but it does not resemble me now.

Very Cordially,
(Mrs D. F.) Ella M. Nichols, '71
