Dear Mamma:-Miss Smith and Miss Purington are here and conversation is brisk but I'll try to write a little. There are so many things to do that we don't know what to do first. Tell Emma that "Winony" Hughes has a room for tonight across the hall
forfrom us! She hopes to stay a week, but we hope she can't keep this room! Emma will sympathize. Three of the college girls are staying here - Ruth Marty, Mabel Moon and another.Wednesday I went out looking for Zool. things, but am not sure I found the right thing. I wrote to Miss Clapp this morning, and hope she gets it so as to answer before she leaves So. Hadley, because I don't know which map or globe to order. Wed. noon we had Mrs. Whalen to lunch with us and she stayed a long time in the afternoon. Edith Packard is librarian in the other end of this building so I have seen her.
Wed. evening we saw Faust and it was fine. The music was good - better than when I've heard it in Boston, tho the soloists weren't quite as good.
Today I've been up with Carrie Holt all day at Columbia and have heard all the Wellesley news. Glad I didn't stay there. They fight. Went to the Physiology at Barnard, and I guess I'll not study there! It didn't impress me very much. Saw several people I knew, some Mt. Holyoke people, and one nice Wellesley girl.
Tomorrow evening we spend up at Elizabeth's. She came to dinner with us last night - may come up to South Hadley for Easter Sunday. She doesn't look very well.
The subway is fine. We travel up and down in less than half the time it used to take. They run express trains as well as local ones, on separate tracks of course.
It was so warm today that I almost roasted - wished I had my spring suit. Hope this good weather will last.
Guess I'll nto write any more - there are too many interruptions. I'll be home sometime next Tuesday but I don't know when. Miss Smith sends her love. Hope you are getting on all right. Give my love to Emma.
Love to you,
Abby.I have some fine Easter cards.
Thursday night.
