New Zealand 1 Oct '88My dear George
You will be surprised to see a letter from me after my long absence, and although I have often meant to write to you, somehow I have kept on putting it off till now. Since I left home about 23 years ago I have been travelling about the world, have seen a great deal more than I thought I would see, and you may depend I know a little more than I did when I left. I hope you and yours are well and I would like very much to have a few lines from you by next mail.
I am pegging along here in a middling kind of way and am thinking of trying to take a trip home next summer.
Hoping to have a letter from you soon, even if its only a few lines it will be a mercy to get a letter from home
I remain
Your affectionate brother
Edward TurnerShould I be so unfortunate as to have lost my brother I would ask any of my relatives, his descendants or otherwise to write to me at once
