An Undated Letter

Tues. A.M.

Dear Mamma:-

I'll write just a few words before breakfast. Things go on so fast that there is almost no time to write or do anything but the Congress.

The hotel is very comfortable - far quieter than South Hadley! Guess I'll go to the city for quiet hereafter. It is in the residence section and Buffalo is a lovely city. I got my trunk the night I came and I never had my clothes travel better.

The meetings yesterday began with a big meeting in a hall that holds several thousand people. I am sending you papers so you can read a little. [no longer with the letter] Please keep the papers. Pres. Eliot was the finest one of the lot. He is president of the Congress. In the afternoon there were meetings where papers were given and I heard some fine ones. Another big meeting in the evening and a reception after it but we were tired and left out the reception though I was sorry to. Have found several persons I know, and everyone is most cordial.

A Buffalo woman of the entertainment com. takes Dr. U- and me to Niagara in her automobile this afternoon - she came to call yesterday. Oh, this is being done in style!

Beautifully cool yesterday. Today looks a little cloudy but I hope it will let us go to Niagara.

Your letter came last night. I was glad to hear you are all right.

Oh - Harold Cross of Nashua - now Boston dentist was one of those I met.

Much love to you - remembrances to all at the house.

Abby
