Tues. nightDear Mamma:-
Just a note tonight to inclose these items from the Sunday Globe. [no longer with the letter] I thought you might be interested in them.
It has been a gorgeous day, but cold! We went up Pine Mt. this morning, a little walk only a little higher than Mt. Holyoke, but giving a wonderful view. This afternoon I slept quite a while and the Bloods all came to supper with us. Alice went down tonight on the night train. They took her ten miles over to Jefferson after supper, and I think it has just come back. I am sorry she had to go so soon. Jane Blood just came back.
Miss Blakely wrote me of another possible companion and I have written to her. Have four on the string now. A letter came from one tonight and I don't like it much, but I'll see her in Boston. The others are more hopeful.
There's going to be a hard frost tonight without doubt.
