Wed. forenoonDear Mamma:-
I'll write you just a note though it takes so long to get it started that it may not reach South Hadley very much before I do. I don't know when I shall get there - neither does Dr. Sprague. He put a wedge in yesterday, but it is in a place where my teeth are very close together. He will change the wedge today and may be able to fill tomorrow, or may need another day for the wedge. He couldn't tell whether there was one cavity or two, but he was sure of one. I am going to have Miss Taunt wash my hair this afternoon. She does it so well and it has begun to come out. There is so little dust this year that I guess it will not get dirty getting home.
I bought me a new rain coat in Boston yesterday and had my old one sent home. If it gets there before I do, you might have the package opened. The shoes I had for tramping I left at Harborside - and found a sale in Boston as good as the winter sale so I bought some shoes. They also may get home before I do. Also a package of drawers. That was all practically.
I got to Nashua at 2:10 and stayed a while with Dr. Sprague, then missed one car and got here at about 4:30. It is good to see Jessee and Fred. We are putting up some plums today and I must go now to be helping with the putting into cans.
Expect me when you see me.
With love -
Abby
