Blanchard June 26th 1855Dear cousin
I have not forgotten you hough I am so long absent. I have got one half done but did not finish it. Five weeks ago to-day I was sick with the Rhumatic [sic] fever and was so I could not move myself at all for 3 weeks I was lifted about from my chair to my bed and it seemed as though that would kill me. Harriet Shaw was my Doc[tr]ess, but now I am teaching a school in Blanchard and have 40 scholars I commenced yesterday. I have $2.50 per week don't think I shall get along after a while. July 15th
I should like to be where I could step in to see you this fine eve. I should be as happy as I was last thursday [sic] when James came after me to go home when Uncle had come I went home at night and they went off to the lake the next morning So I did not see them long, but I laid with Susan so we had a better chance I guess we did not go to sleep in very good season.

Good morning
I have commenced again this morn determined to finish this letter. every [sic] time I have commenced one something has happened so that I have to lay it by until another time.
How much longer have you got to stay at Mt. Holyoke? How do you like? I want to know where you are going to be after you get through there. As soon as you get home I want you to be sure and come to see us.
I cannot stop to write much this morning but I do want you to write me soon and I will answer it right off it is a great pleasure to me to have letters from friends, but I do not like to write for I am such a poor letter writer that I am ashamed to write but I love to hear from my friend[s] so I write in order to hear from them but if I could hear from them without writing or if they would write me and let me be silent I don't think I should write many letters.
The hour has about arrived for me to be at the school room and so I must close please write soon
From your sincere Cousin Borredell [?]
