Miss Abby H. Turner,
Faculty House,
South Hadley, Mass.My dear Miss Turner:
I infer from your letter of May 11 that you received my letter of April 17 and that you are contemplating coming to us. I do not quite understand what the trouble can be at Radcliffe or why they have to have any considerable amount of detail as to what you contemplate doing. If you will give me the details of your difficulties with them it is possible that I can give matters a slight boost. After all is said and done, while you are registered in Radcliffe you are passed on for the degree by a committee from the Medical School, and since we know in advance that the committee is willing there is no reason why Radcliffe should bother us.
I think it will be possible to arrange an opportunity for you to do the gas analysis you want during the summer and to make a beginning of your arrangements. Let me know a week or so ahead of time when you plan to come.
I shall see Dr. Hunt in a day or so and find out just what he wants for the meeting of the Division, but from conversations I have already had upon the subject I imagine that it is no more than the assurance that you are working through me on a thesis. I will give you the details of my conversation in a later note.
Very sincerely yours,
Cecil K. Drinker
