Dearest Love,

My first Sunday up here has been a very, very lively one to be sure! This afternoon George Newall, my old crush -! the minister's son, dropped in. My, he was a fussy youngster but right nice. He is going to Stevens next year and is most enthusiastic about his work.

Bubbie dear, you don't know how glad I was to receive your letter on Friday. It was the next best thing to seeing you, you know. Do you know dear, it seems as though I hadn't seen you in weeks - Truly it does. I certainly wish you weren't so far away for I do miss you an awful, awful lot.

Now I'm angry! Oh so !angry!!!! Gr-r-r-r. Received a letter from Grace Wallace and she wanted me to remember her to you! Do you want me to tell you what she said - a-ha - more growls!! - These are her very woids!! [sic]

"Indeed it is a coincidence that I should meet Roland Beattie. He is a mighty nice "genty" and I'm so glad to have had the pleasure of knowing him a speck!" There now, I can just hear you ha-ha with glee because you're so pleased!! gr-r-r - Truly she is just as fine as she ever was - Hasn't changed a bit.

Aren't you the cruel creature, tho', Bub dear, to tell me all about those wonderful peaches you were gathering - Away vile villain! You knew it would make my mouth water. But I should worry!! We devoured three boxes of candy this afternoon - So cheer up!

Bub darling I wish too, that I might see you before going to Philly too, you see I'm coming down on Saturday the 29th or 30th (Saturday anyway) of August to Yonkers. I'll be there until Monday - when I expect to go down to Philly, meet Dick Gidley and sail on to "my life's woik." [sic] I could see you on Sunday, dear, but that is the only day I'll not be travelling about. How is that for you?

My, but I was sorry your father has been laid up with a cold. I do sincerely hope he is entirely well by this time. There is nothing like taking care of them when they first start in.

I think I have passed my abnormal psychie exam but that d- old ec - ye gauds! I'm still hoping. I pulled a B on my note book any way - Thanks to you, dear. It sure must have been your writing that did the deed!!

Said good-bye to the hero on Friday. And it sure was the last straw. He asked me why I didn't join the chorus! Now I ask you - would you consider this a compliment or otherwise I considered it otherwise! He sure is funny. Poor old duck is being operated on for appendicitis this wee! I'm in tears -

You needn't talk about Rain, Rain, in Murray Hill. It is pouring outside here now - and by jove - promises to be rainy tomorrow, too. However, I'm happy though because I can sleep, sleep and grow fat.

Well, dear, I must stop now and go talk to Daddy for a while -. You see I'm not "talked out" yet.

Remember us all to your mother, your father and Ken and most certainly don't "forgit" your own li'l self!

All my love,
Fran.

P.S. If you forget this it doesn't matter of course!!!!!? but - Kid wants to be remembered to his royal highness Kenneth Wilfred Beattie of Keurol [?], N.J.!!! F.
