Sept. 10, 1919.
Bub darling,
Yours received this morning and truly I'm just awfully sorry I can't see you this next week-end but I just received a letter from Buddie, saying her "mater" is not going to be home so after all perhaps it is best that you cannot come - I was going to write and tell you not to come.
I'm mighty sorry, dear, for I have been counting on seeing you a lot. However, we must make the best of it.
Bub dear, it is up to you now to make the dates in the future. Write me when you can come either out here to Sleighton or Philly and if it is my time off, why all well and good. If I'm on the job then I'll tell you.
This morning, dear, received a wonderful letter from Dad and what do you think - I passed both my courses and now I'm sure of my "dip" - Truly I almost wept for joy.
Saturday Dick & I are going into Buddie's at noon and we're keeping house while Mrs. Budd is away.
Bub darling, the kids down here are perfect devils and if I know how to speak civilly when I come home - well, it'll be a wonder.
The picture of "Murray" sure looks natural! How could I forget it.
You know dear, I've truly had my eyes opened while I'm here - many, heavy things have come up and I'm glad they have for I'll sure be heaps different when I get out -
School bells ringing so off I must trot -
All my love,
Fran.
