A Letter Written on Aug 25, 1928

August 25, 1928.

Dearest Bub,

Do you realize that in just one week from to-day I shall be the happiest girl in the world? Someone I love very much is going to come up here and be with me. Won't it be great though? I can hardly wait for Sept. 1st.

Do please be careful though dear and do not race for I want you to arrive safely and not too tired!

Yes, I received Freasie's letter of thanks. It was a relief for I was afraid she had not received it.

This next part is from sister at her dictation!

Dear Daddy,

Love daddy, Betty & Jane up here playing with a [shovel]; a [rake] & a [dustpan]? [little pictures were drawn in the letter for each of these] Jerry put a swing up for us. We're glad Daddy is going to come up here. I went into the garden & picked some onions.

Betty sat in the wet swing & got her pants wet - !

Dear Daddy - we love him! We went to a circus & saw a dog & two monkies [sic] & the man gave the monkey a banana and we saw a horse & he rode around the floor.

The pony made a miss in counting & the man made him do it again.

We saw a merry-go-round.

Two birds were on the merry-go-round & one birdie gave the others a ride & one rang the bell -

And we're going to get a baby -

Love Daddy -
from
Sister.

Sister just wanted to know if after I did all my work we could go & get a baby.

I think the difficulty with my letters being so delayed to you, dear, is that some I mail at the P.O. & they go quickly, others I give to the post man & they take a bit longer.

Well, dearest I must stop now.

All my love,
Your own,
Fran.

P.S. if we are to go to Black Haven why don't you write for the 10th to the 17th of Sept. for Betty's school begins around the 24th, & my dates will be 18th & 24th & I would like to do some bathing if possible -

Fran.
