A Letter Written on Oct 9, 1956

Tuesday Afternoon

Dear Pat:

What gives here, we thought sure we would get a letterf rom [sic] you yesterday. We still don't know when this Junior Show is, or are you trying to keep us in the dark until the day before. Or maybe you don't know the date as yet, or something, we'd sure like to know as we'll have to make arrangements. I realize you're busy but a small card wouldn't take much time to write.

I took all of the things in to Marion's last Thursday to be fired and I'm going to pick up some of them tonight to put the gold on them. I hope they turn out okay and don't have to do any over again.

Dad's still taking pictures and developing them. I think he takes just anything, so as to get a roll finished.

Did you know Kim likes to watch television, especially the world series, she sits by the half hour just watching and occasionly [sic] trying to paw the screen. Dad even tried to take some pictures of her doing that. She also learned to jump up on the table last week and we scolded her and fanned her fanny several times when she persisted, so she finally tried crawling under the table cloth, and walking across the table, thinking we couldn't see her. She knows better, but hard to convince, also she's saving her rug and pawing ours. Oh, I guess you didn't know, but I got her a rug about 1' square and you can put catnip in the back of it, this is the rug she's saving. She sleeps up on my bed almost every night, some nights she missed.

I guess the Rhoades won't move to Florida, the work didn't pan out too well. The Hipples are back and everyone was at club Saturday night.

Grandma was down for dinner Sunday and we went out to the cemetary [sic] and I made some more earrings for myself, although I don't have them painted as yet. I was at Ceramic meeting last night and expect to paint tonight at home and then tomorrow night we have another Ceramic meeting for the fair, we almost finished with fair things. I made them some personalized earrings.

How are your lessons coming along? Don't get too envolved [sic] that you neglect them altogether.

Did you like the last peppermints I sent you, the creamy kind. It seems that you can't get the other Schrafft's mints. Is there anything you want us to bring up besides the Ceramic things.

I hope ther's [sic] a letter at home today, Grandma is going down to check.

Take care of your self and dress for the cooler weather, today it is very nice here. We are all okay here.

Love,
Mother
