A Letter Written on May 17, 1956

Thursday evening

Dearest Pat,

Just a little note to let you know I'm thinking of you. Have you broken your arm? I haven't heard a word from you since Easter. In fact not a line from you Janie or Dot. I know you're busy but how about a line?

My last final is June 5th and I'm coming home the same day. I imagine you're finished much earlier as usual. At least we get our money's worth. As yet I have no job for the summer. Did you get a playground?

Last week-end my parents came up and for a change we had nice weather. Believe it or not today it snowed.

Time is just crawling along but I guess it will fly once finals start the 28th.

I haven't done anything interesting for so long I'm ashamed except to help rig the elections in French-Spanish Club. I ended up as treasurer.

Saturday is May day and my R.O.T.C. squadron was selected to escort the queen. We'll be the laughing stock of the school I can hardly wait to turn in the uniform and say to hell with the fly boys.

Be good! have fun! I see you soon, I hope!

Love,
Phil
