Thurs. Afternoon
Dear Pat.
Well how was the week-end? Have a nice time? I hope you got your brown shoes in time. The weather has been lousy around here all this week. Saturday and Sunday were rather nice and Monday was hot and the rest of the week cold and rainy and cloudy. Boy did we work over the week-end. Tearing up the old floor. I worked so hard Saturday that Sat. night I couldn't sleep for my whole right arm paining me. The muscles were sure sore, finally I took a pain pill that finally worked and went to sleep around 4 and got up at 8:30 for S. S. But Sunday I felt better and I did some more scrapping. Daddy didn't seem to mind it at all, of course, he was used to painting with him [sic] arm and his muscle[s] weren't to[o] bound. I'm getting soft, just sitting at a desk working. We finally got the linoleum up and they laid the other floor monday [sic] and it looks wright [sic] nice. They finally finished up yesterday and we can begin to put things together again, will I be glad.
Monday night we messed around the house some more, dad touching up the paint job here and there that they messed up and then they went and messed it up some more on Tuesday, so last night he finally finished touching up. Tuesday night I went to the Dr. again and I've been feeling much better lately. I hope I'm over the hump. Wednesday night we had club at Jane's and I had such lousy hands all evening.
We're short handed here at the office. Smitty just feel [sic] last night and broke a bone in her foot and Emily has been off sick and we still didn't get any new recruits, so we are very short handed and busy.
Were you depending on Dad getting a blower for your fluid to put on charcoal drawings, if you were he hasn't got it yet or even stopped to see if they have one.
Grandma got here [sic] mother's day gift yesterday and was quite pleased.
My candy you sent me is almost all [gone], dad has been helping. Thanks again for your gifts.
