A Letter Written on Oct 27, 1954

Vol I - No - 2 -

Dear "Patricia" -

That was a very nasty and unkind letter you wrote; from now on don't get so worked up when you don't hear from me. Dot Gieshart tells me that you and Jane must not have much to do - according to her - "you'se" keep writing her books.

"Happy Halloween."! [jack-o-lantern drawing] "Happy Birthday" went over with a big bang, the play itself was not so good but Lealia Moulton really was terrific in the "lead". Cole was terrific also. The first performance was called off, because of a power failure - 2 sec. before the curtain was to go up - so we had to send everybody home.

I am writing from the D.O. M.H. has not arrived as yet. (This is the 2nd period.) There are quite of [sic] few changes in our little homestead. A new filing cabinate [sic], a new desk, one big table goes out, we now have - book cases running underneath the windows.

The pictures were hung differently - and M.H got a nice frame for Jane's picture - only it's the kind one would want on a picture of this type. (It goes over her desk), and last but not least, a sofa was added to our luxuries. T.V. set comes later.

I am still discussded [sic] with the frolic - as I said the "new" authors keep adding things when Sissy or I aren't around. They even went as far to add the "High and Mighty", but that was a little to[o] far, it is no longer in the show. They even wanted "The Big Black Giant" to be sung by the course [sic - chorus?] - another veto. Of course she needed more course [sic] numbers - - We are now going to end the frolic with "I'm on my Way" I was not in favor, but I had to compromise. What else was there to do - she ends up with what she wants anyway (usually).

I guess that's it. Write soon, and no more nasty letters.

Be see'n you
Love
John

P.S. Don't let the spooks and goblins get you! I go to M.K.P. next period.

P.S. - P.S.

Dear Patricia:

This little note happens to be written a day later. I'm in a very unhappy mood to day - so excuse any expressions, that I might write down - (1.) the Hell with the frolic, I still think the boy lead "stinks" he talks like he is talking out of his *!?**----.

2. I am not interested in "Hedda Gabler" Sorry! But I am interested in a Christmas play for the P- Players Inc.

What do you think?

Oh, by the way - we are having trouble with M.H. Sissy told her in so many words today - that she is a "brick wall" I'll explain later!

Goodby,
Love,
John.
