A Letter Written on Apr 5, 1956

Thurs. Afternoon

Dear Patt:

I hope you got back okay, so far we haven't had any word. Your special delivery letter arrived sometime monday [sic] afternoon, after the regular mail, as dad was home at noon. You also went back a day too soon. The other camera arrived Tuesday, in fact it arrived as a set with flash attached, dad sent that back. The film came but that wasn't exactly what he wanted, but he said it would be okay, but that you needed filters to take pictures outdoors and they didn't send them along, so Dad won't send the film until they come. He also got his other package of gadgets and his photography magazine on Tuesday, so Tues. night he was up toall [sic] hours going over the stuff, he's still at it. The other camera is a little stiff.

By the way don't sell your other camera, as I would like it, the new cameras are too fancy for me to use.

Monday night Evely[n] Knowfla [sic] came in and we arranged for the food at the Hobby Show, she's taking over that department and I'm handling the hobbies.

Tuesday afternoon it was like summer here the temp. went to 79 and everybody shed their coats. That evening I had class meeting at the Wiest8s [sic] no need to tell you what dad was doing, he [is] not half way thru his magazine yet and has written away for literature or gadgets from at least four places already. So far we haven't gotten too many hobbies in as yet, not as many as last year, people might be holding off until the last minute. I'm all wet I washed Tuesday night and went to class meeting last night. This week has me all mixed up.

Today is a nice day too. I have club tonight at Catherine, one of those weeks when I'm out every night and most nights there were two meetings that I was to go too. [sic]

There has been several other articles in the paper about so and so, which I will send you. Even an editorial.

Did Dan make the train, I thought maybe his letter was saying that he couldn't make it.

Grandma tells me you are applying for a single next year, is that so, it might be best as you can than [sic] have as much junk as you want in your room and you won't disturb Judy with so much.

I'm pretty busy so I guess I'll have to get back to work. Take care of yourself and don't do too much. If you should want your other dress before we come up, let me know in time to send it. You didn't take any skirts along or do you have them up there, I'll have to go thru your closet and see if there is anything you might want to wear for spring.

Be good and we'll see you soon,

Love,
Mother
