A Letter Written on Oct 4, 1956

Thursday

Dear Pat,

I haven't much to say in this letter so I have filled it up with enclosures. [no longer with the letter] Can you account for the August 11th phone call? The others you probably made the weekend you were in New York.

Huccum the sudden interest in a tripod? I thought you considered them unnecessary. You should have said something before. Willoughby's were featuring a special job that comes all apart and can be reassembled in various forms such as small table tripod, a bracket type to clamp onto chairs, etc. I didn't note the price because I wasn't interested at the time. Maybe they'll include it in their add [sic] in the next Pop Photo mag.

I'm surprised you haven't sent a roll of B & W home for developing and printing yet. You know the Feiser F.G. service requires one day for developing and drying and another for printing. I have my roll of 35mm paper now so I can send you a strip printed from any negative roll. Then you can select any special cropping or other treatment - - if you have a good magnifying glass.

I shot one roll of Plus X from my bulk roll and it came out all right. Took some at the office with available light. The subjects were pleased with the results but obviously they are not experts.

Mother's busy making catsies and other ceramic objects tonight. She hasn't bought a kiln yet but I don't believe it will be long.

Keep punching.

Love,
Dad
