Wednesday afternoon
Dearest Pat,
I was so glad to get your letter. I was beginning to think you had forgotten where I was. I'm truly glad you got a job at Allenberry I know it's the kind of work you like. Of course you know I would rather have you in York where I could keep my eye on you but please believe me I'd rather you'd be happy than anything else in the world. Until just lately I never knew just how much you mean to me.
You asked if I planned to work this summer. I'll go crazy if I don't work but I don't have a job yet. I had a chance so I thought at the York Corporation but mother writes that they aren't going to hire anyone this summer. Do you have any suggestions?
Last weekend I had a grand time. 8 of us went to Bill Milton's cabin in the mountains about 130 miles from Grove City. We had a good old college boy brawl. I was so beat when we got back I slept all Monday morning and cut all my classes.
This week-end my parents are coming out and bringing Aunt Ebbs with them. I don't know what to do with them when they get here.
I have a terrible case of spring fever. The temperature has been in the 80's & 90's all week. It doesn't seem possible that finals will start in just a little over two weeks. I've given up studying for the year. Are we really almost finished our first year of college? I can't believe it.
Tell Dot I hope her hound grows to be a monester [sic] before I get home. I just love being knocked flat by overgrown monsters.
Please excuse the terrible writing my mind and hand seem to be getting things mixed up.
I'll be seeing you in just a few weeks.
Love always,
