A Letter Written on Apr 21, 1955

Thurs. Aft.

Dear Patty:

Daddy mailed your dress this noon. I hope you like it and it fits. If by any chance it doesn't, but can be altered tell us what to do to it and send it back. Daddy sent it special handling and $10. Ins. You wouldn't have to send it special handling but you better insure it if you send it back. If it doesn't fit at all and you don't like it, Leeds will take back the dress, so be careful with it. Be careful when you take it out of the box, as you might tear it. I'm enclosing a label for you to put on the package just in case you sne [sic] it back. [no longer with the letter] Be sure to cross off the old label. If you don't like it, be sure to get a dress there for Parents day, as you don't have anything there fit to wear.

Did you notice Johnny['s] picture in the paper either Mon or Tues of this week.

I'm going to get you shoes tomorrow, I think patent leathre [sic] with heels. I think you can wear them probably with more things.

Helped set up last night for our class rummage sale today.

See you soon, I hope
Mother
