A Letter Written on Feb 27, 1956

Monday night

Dearest Pat,

I was so glad to receive your note and learn that you are still kicking.

Last week-end I got bored so I packed my bag and went home. Not last week-end the 17th, my! how time flies, anyway Jim was home so we visited Dorothée. You can imagine how much she had to tell me after my seven weeks out of her reach. Saturday night she had a party for friends of Bill and Hazel's. Everyone was there but Mace. I found his absence disturbing but I was informed that a lot can happen in several weeks. i had an uneventful trip back except that Jack got stopped for speeding.

It's too late now but I certainly picked a lousy bunch to associate with up here. They do nothing but fight and for the last few weeks I have been the target. They act like a group of old maids having fits over the slightest little thing. I'm damn sick of them and I told them so tonight.

"The Rains of Ranchipur?", had nothing on us Saturday. I never saw such a bad storm in my life. It was all I could do to stay on the ground, the wind kept insisting I fly.

Yesterday was beautiful and about mid-night there was a raid on the girls dorm. About 500 of us took part (the other cowards stayed in the dorms) unfortunately the dean of men and police broke it up about 1 A.M.

Have fun for these are the best years of our lives. ??!

Love always,
Phil
