Dartmouth

Monday - November 1

Dear Pat -

Sorry for this reply in blank verse - which lack of intellectual prowess necessitates. Thank you for the card and epic poetry, though it smacks of your habit of rubbing in cultural superiority, dating back to Findlay Street days. Ah well! Such are the fruits of life.

Will probably get my two hour exams back today. It's now about 6:30 AM and I've been up all night playing bridge. I didn't get to bed til 6:00 yesterday morning, thus slept til 5:00 Sunday afternoon, thus am not tired enough to get to sleep. It will be great to get back to classes, since I haven't hit one since two Wednesdays ago. My teachers are always glad to see me, since my visits are so infrequent.

With over a month of college under your belt, how do you like Mt. Holyoke? Have you dropped to B's in any subjects? If so, let me extend condolences.

Dartmouth is such a big drag, that it embarasses [sic] me to write to anybody and try to relate any of the newest happenings - there aren't any. I may be in the Army soon since I haven't bothered to reclassify and don't see any reason that would hold me to my present college status unless it should be a good run of cards. However, it [is] not really that glum. There are occasional drunks and full-houses. Again, thanks much for the informative lit.

Love,
Rod
