A Letter Written on Mar 18, 1959

Wednesday Afternoon

Dear Pat:

How's everthing [sic] coming? Your washing is just about finished and expect to mail some of it tomorrow. A few of the things I will keep here. The things I sent to be dry cleaned.

Well we bought a Ford Monday night, two tone bronze and tan, I guess we'll have to park it in the living room as it goes with that but not with the outside of the house. We'll get it Thurs. after work. We got the best deal there, I don't like it as well though as the Plymouth, but we saved several hundred dollars on the deal. Maybe a Plymouth the next time. Also they didn't have any Plymouths in stock and we wanted to beat the tax deal too, which saves us several hundred dollars if it goes thru.

I'm enclosing a clipping from Monday's paper, too bad. You know it's Dot's brother.

Mr. Sievers has been in the hospital for the past several weeks. he had a heart attack like Pres. Eisenhart's. [President Eisenhower had a heart attack in 1955; typo?] The last I heard he was coming along pretty well. Have you heard from Phil lately. If I think of it I8ll [sic] call Phil this week-end to find out how his father is. I had heard last week that he was in the hospital and aunt Bertie stopped in the store this week to find out what was wrong with him.

We got your pictures Monday. Dad developed one pack Monday night and one pack last night and expects to make the pictures tonight, probably send them along with your case, maybe not though. They look pretty good. Some may be over exposed.

I bought a pair of green shoes today, so I guess I'm ready for Easter.

You understand that we're not going to send you your birthday gifts but keep them for you until you come home. By the way what do you want. Maybe we won't have anything.

I understand you had another snow storm over the week-end. It is still pretty cold here but the sun is out thank goodness. If there is a storm brewing or going on, please come by train and don't take any chances with the car. The fellows can come east some other time. Don't forget Dad wants you to take two days for the trip and not try to drive at night with the chance of falling asleep.

Harold started on his vacation last Friday, so I have been doing his payroll work again for him, but since I don't have to keep that chart anymore I have more time to myself and get finished work early.

We had Grandma Feiser and Edward out for dinner and supper Sunday, since it was her birthday Saturday, we also gave her two dresses for her birthday. She was 82.

We're getting anxious to see you, but I guess I won't house clean until after you're home, as I can't take off any while Harold is away on his vacation. So the place won't be too clean and the windows are getting pretty dirty.

How's that breaking out, don't forget you have an appointment with the Dr. Everyone is okay here, hope you are the same.

Love.
Mother
