Tues afternoon at work.
Hi Patty -
I delivered your shoes to Dot on Sunday also the pictures for Floss and Dot said she would deliver them. When we got there everything was dark but the door seemed to be open, so I went up and rang but no response so as I was coming to the car, Dot & the King drove up, so we chatted awhile and I gave her your address and she said she hadn't heard from you as yet. I told her you no doubt wrote to her over the weekend.
Grandma Feiser was out Sunday night to see TV and she said you promised to send her your address.
Last night I packed you a box and daddy mailed it today. This week will probably seem like Christmas, with so many packages arriving. I forgot to get the name off of the two packages we got you in N.Y., so if you want anymore we can send for some so you keep of record of it if you like it. Notice I'm not saying what it is. It's nothing much so dont [sic] raise your hopes. Grandma didn't have time to make some fudge so I made some from that canned powder but it won't be as good as Grandma's. Now don't get sick on the things I sent you. I wouldn't eat too much between meals and save my snacks for after supper. After all eat all you can at meals as we're paying a good price for them.
Follow the instruction in your typewriter book to put on your new ribbon. He told me to have you bring in your typewriter when you bring it home for the margin repairs. I told him it doesn't always hold at the margin.
It sure is nice here today, just like summer. I wonder how Grandma [is] getting along at her new job today.
I still didn't get your rugs but expect to this week. I'm undecided.
How's the math coming, don't let them get you down, they're just trying to find out what you're made of and you can take it. Well give it right back to them and ask a lot of questions. Mary Horne was telling me she was listening to some woman prof. on T.V. explain simple addition and she said she never heard anything so complicated in all her life.
Of course I can understand why you can't understand your French teacher, every teacher almost has her own distinct pronunciation after you get used to it you won't have any trouble.
Susie Dietz was in today and she said the marks you get around Thanksgiving are terrible and also the ones around Christmas and that they don't expect too much from you at first until you get adjusted. So don't worry they won't get you down just do some hard plugging until you get the drift. Then you can take it easy. Don't make the mistake of staying up too late and tiring yourself for the next day. That won't pay off. By the way Susie got her hair cut and looks rather nice.
Dad says Sue Throne might soon get married as Ellsie [sic] want[s] her to marry him and live out there where he is. Of course her mother doesn't agree. Sue doesn't care too much for the food where she is.
I haveI have class meeting tonite. Can you make out my writing or must I type my letters too?I guess I'll close for now as I want to get this letter in the mail when Ronney takes it up.
Did you know Rodney the old office boy has gone in the Army.
So long for now, be good.
Love
Mother.
