Tuesday Afternoon
Dear Pat:
Well Eaxster's [sic] over. Who hid your easter [sic] eggs this year. Did you go to Church and take communion, I hope so. Dad and Grandma and I went Thurs. night. There was quite a crowd and it was the first time Dad saw the Church. Did you see the Church since it was redecorated. Had my first ride on the elevator too.
Everyone was down home for Easter dinner, I wasn't feeling so hot, I think I must have picked up the virsus [sic], I'm beginning to feel better today.
Kim sure has a change of heart, she wants to go out the worst way, I believe the birds facinate [sic] her. She gets her last shot this Wed. and we get them Thurs. The Doc said she'd last longer if she stayed in. I have a harness and think I'll take her out at first with that on, because she becomes scared at every little noise outside and I'm afraid off she'll go.
We mailed you a box yesterday, in fact your laundry case. Your greenish bermudas [sic] are not included as they were at the cleaners and dad forgot to pick them up Saturday, so we'll either send them so or maybe bring them up if we make it.
Dad hasn't heard from the State yet as to whether he has to take the exam or not, tomorrow is the deadline too, I believe he's going to send a registered letter or something and then they'll have to acknowledge his letter. So we still don't know if we'll make it or not, but if Dad doesn't have to take the exam, I think we'll be there and try to bring Grandma. I don't know if you should put our reservations in or not and then maybe cancel them if we don't make it, what do you think. Maybe we'll have some definite word this week, I hope so.
We're finally finished with the dinning [sic] room, all painted and house cleaned, except Kim has flowers and stems all strewed over the floor, which I noticed she must have been playing with last night. The little dickens gets in her sometimes.
Sunday was just like summer here, up in the high eighties, a beautiful Easter day.
By your last letter to Grandma I see you are getting around a little. Be sure and ask someone to your junior prom and don't wait until the last minute when everyone is taken. Will you need your brown spring gdress [sic] before we come up? If we don't come should I send it to you?
Have you heard anything definite about summer yet?
Aunt Helen and Harry were in town for a day and a half. They get a vacation for two weeks this summer, so maybe we'll see them then, as they are renting a cottage from Mary Moul at the river, such a vacation. Ann won't be with them though as she's going to be working. With another publishing company proof reading and she's going to make $16 more a week than she did last year, so.
Everyone is okay here and take care of yourself. Hope to see you soon.
Love,
Mother
