Dear Patty,
How are you stranger? I was so surprised to hear from you so soon. Upset though, because I had truly wanted to be the first to send something through the mail. Yours wasn't really a letter though because all you wrote was "write"! So, I am obeying your command. I was always told never to contradict my stage manager, to keep friends you must please them and do what they desire.
If this letter seems to wander or even to lose all meaning whatsoever - please bear up with me. I have just gotten through rush week, I have a dreadful cold, an infected ear, and two impacted wisdom teeth. There, don't you have your eyes full of tears for me? I do! Also, at the moment, I have just come back from having a delightful Italian dinner (nothing comparable to Smithies cooking though), and now sitting in a large bed room listening to a recording, on a hi-fi set, of a thousand voice choir which is simply blasting, but beautiful. I would tell you what I was listening to but know I couldn't spell it if I tried - so I will leave the task undone. Sorry! It reminds me of our very happy times in Larry's room when we would sit around and listen to your wonderful records. If nothing else remains with me as a memory of this past summer, I am certain that those moments will. They were so wonderful and the company was so pleasant. Thank you for the experience.
I got a letter from my mother the other day and there was some very funny news in it. It is about M'Lou though, and I will write soon, but you can tell her until I write. An old Aunt of mine, Miss Grace Woldie, wrote mother the other day that she had read that an old student of hers had been doing stock on the Cape. A student she had taught in the second grade. Who was this student? M'Lou, of course. I think Barnard was the school. Do you know if I am correct or not. I truly have very little news to relate now but will write later when some gossip comes my way. Please write and let me know the the [sic] news -
much love,
Pete-Po!Please send me a bill when all the pictures are ready. Thank you for the ones of Romeo and Juliet. Will it be possible to have the colored ones? Merci!
