Tuesday Afternoon
Dear Pat:
Grandma was sure glad to get your letter yesterday. On Sunday we decided to send you a box and she made you a cake, and we mailed the box today, so in a few days you should receive it. Next time she'll make the sugar cakes.
Sorry to hear that you have to be quarantined that make [sic] it rather tought [sic] for your plays and so forth doesn't it. Will you be able to put Picnic on. Good luck on Millie's part I hope you get it, just act natural and it's made.
I was wondering if you might not have mountain day one day last week, it sure was beautiful quite a few days. It's been very nice this week so far.
We didn't do anything exciting over the week-end. Went to club Saturday night and I made it to Sunday School and Church Sunday. In fact they're having a campaign on and you're supposed to go to church every night this week. I don't know how many nights we'll make. I wanted to go for a ride Sunday it was so pretty but Dad was too pooped putting up the storm windows Sat. and working in the cellar, all we did was go to the cemetary [sic] and ride around for about 1/2 hour. They had all good programs on the list Sunday night, starting out with Pinocchio, starring Michey [sic] Rooney and Walter Selzak, it was in the form of a musical, and very good. The dancing in the shows all evening were excellent. I hope you may have seen some of it. Have you seen Spudnik there as yet in the observatory. Bob Rhoades and some other chaps keep listening for the sounds.
The club is planning to take Jane and Paul out to dinner at Abbottstown Saturday night. That might be something different to do. Their new home isn't quite finished as yet.
I wonder if your quarantine might keep you from getting home for yoru [sic] Thanksgiving vacation. I hope not, as far as I know now, we'll take you back on Sunday.
Take care of yourself and try and not get a cold. And get plenty of rest that's one of the main things to do to void off the flu. Plenty of rest and good food.
Every one is okay here and take care of yourself.
Love,
Mother
