A Letter Written on Nov 13, 1957

Wed. Afternoon

Dear Pat:

Busy as a bee I suppose. We received your laundry case and watch Sat. In fact, we received a notice in the mail Friday that they had a registered package for us. Dad called that night and thought it might be your laundry case, but they said not, so we thought dad was getting a summons for speeding or something and was surprised to find out it was your watch. Will have it repaired. Your laundry case went off yesterday, plus a box with three articles that I could not get into your laundry case. So be on the watch out for two articles.

Dad has finally got his dark room finished. He put a coat of paint on the inside Sat. and Sun. spent the day taking it off again. He used the paint that he had put on the cellar walls before and it flaked off. He then painted it again Monday and got his things in by Monday night. He then proceeded to print some of your pictures and they got awful. So last night he tried again and they got better. He used the wrong filter the night before. I helped him and we finished the three rolls except the ones (12) he made the night before. I guess he'll do those tonight and get them ready to mail out to you in a day or two. His room looks quite nice. Kim is scared to death of it.

When is the play, [sic] Do you know your part as yet.

Dad and I had our combination flu shots last week and haven't got any bad reactions as yet. They claim if you're allegric [sic] to eggs you shouldn't take them.

Did you get your second polio shot as yet, it is due.

I'm enclosing a few clippings that I cut out of the paper.

By the way do you know a Marcia Bell from Pittsburgh. Her mother is Elanor's [sic] Program Chairman at Chataqua. They live there in the Summer. This is the third time she asked me to ask you if you knew her. She may be a Junior.

Aunt Bertie stopped in this morning and had a new gadget on. A hearing aid. It wasn't noticeable.

Everyone is okay here and I hope you are the same.

Club didn't seem the same Sat. without the Rhoades. They expect to have club this Sat. at Jane's mothers. [sic] I haven't heard from Jane since she moved.

Eleanor and I are working at Copper tonight.

See You soon., [sic]

Love,
Mother
