A Letter Written on Mar 18, 1956

Sunday

Dearest Pat,

You, young lady, are going to get a spanking as soon as I see you which will be in about a week and a half. I've been waiting patiently for almost a month now for the letter you owe me. I know you're so so busy and you just happened to break your arm. Sorry excuses won't save you a good beating is what you need and a beating you'll get.

I'll have you know that last week I returned to the stage. Our French-Spanish club gave two one act plays and I had the lead in the spanish [sic] one. Needless to say the old ham still shows but perhaps the years are beginning to mellow it a bit, in any case it was great fun.

I heard from Jim the beginning of the week. It seems he will have his problems with him always, but he has more fun trying to solve them than anyone I ever heard of.

I saw several good movies recently. I think think Picnic was done very well except for the fact that Bill Holden was too old for the lead. Helen of Troy was fine too if you like all the mass of extras, etc.

Did you know that Miss Hallock had a nervous breakdown. Her mother's death seems to have been the main cause of it.

This past week has been pure Hell for me. I averaged two tests a day counting pop quizes [sic]. I intend to relax from now till Easter.

Friday morning we got up to find almost a foot of sh snow on the ground. It was the most beautiful snow of the year but now I'm sick of it. With spring only a few days away the snow just doesn't seem quite right.

Be seeing you soon.

Love,
Phil
