A Letter Written on Jan 21, 1956

Sat. evening

Dear Pat:

I made the faux-pas of the year! I went down to get tickets for "Tiger at the Gates" and, unthinkingly, got them for Thursday evening instead of Wednesday. So, if your friend can't go then, I will. I'll try to get something else for Wednesday now. Eileen Heckert [sic - Heckart] is out of "A View From the Bridge" so I didn't think you'd want to see it. It's closing soon, anyhow. It wasn't doing too well. I'll try to get a comedy for Wed. evening since the rest are all heavy drama. I'll keep the tickets here because you may not get them in time. Give me a call at Talent Exchange (JU 6-6300) when you get into town. Leave a message where I can call you or meet you or something. As far as I know, I'm free Tuesday after four, Wednesday after five and Thursday all day.

I don't know yet as to whether or not you can come to "open class." Our teacher is still in Florida with "Streetcar." He's directing Tallulah Bankhead in the production. He'll be back Tuesday.

Mr. Gage is in town now so we'd better drop in for a short call sometime. Maybe Thursday afternoon or Friday.

Saw "Fallen Angels," "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter", "The Righteous are Bold" and "Teahouse of the August Moon" this past week, all for free. The Wing had tickets.

Did a scene from "The Rainmaker" last week in class. Played Jim. Much fun. Did the scene when he comes back with Snookie's red hat.

Hal dropped in this afternoon. He's up for the lead in ELT's production of "Lilliom." [sic - Liliom] Milt went to Texas to do Professor Jemelle in "Reclining Figure." Frank Hammerton's there, also.

Gotta go, Pat, honey, we've decided to go to Radio City Music Hall tonight.

Love & stuff,
Dick
