Dear Patricia,

How are things up north? Please excuse this stationary [sic] ??? - but it happens to be the only thing we have back stage[.] [The first page was written on the back of a stage manager's report form] We are in the midst of "Rainmaker", this is the 2nd wk and It'd [sic] run another wk - How about that? You know Ive [sic] ben [sic] up here 12 wks, so far, and we've only done 4 shows - well, really 5 - we did the Children's Christmas play, but they were all matinees. We are doing "King of Hearts" next, cam [sic] you imagine going through 3 wks of that?!!!

How were things in the ol' D.D. around Christmas? Did you get a chance to see M.H? I haven't heard any reports on their anual [sic] extravaganza - I understand she is doing "The Hasty Heart" for the All School Play - I imagine her Troupe 520 is slowly dwindling down - at least it was last yr.

Nothing of too much importants [sic] is going on up here. Our company is slowly going it seems the army has a great interest in this company - 3 have been drafted, the disgusting part about the whole thing is: We had a very good actor here; very good in fact. Well, anyway he got his draft notice, 3 days later he received a letter from the "No Time for Sargents" [sic] Co. it seems they were considering him for the Andy Griffith role for the road company - He was a very good friend of Andy.

Have you any plans for the summer yet?

Well, we are now at the File and Lizzie scene, so I guess I better close - there is a cue coming up - so sorry I don't have much time for a little longer letter - But - - -

Write soon -
Love
J fred.

P.S. Have you heard from our little friend in N.Y? "i . B"
