Wednesday Afternoon

Dear Pat:

Just a short note to let you know everyone is okay and working hard.

How are your exams coming? Did you make a good mark? Lots of luck on the rest.

I guess you'll have to pack twice if you have to move upstairs. Can't you talk the old girls out of using your room, the floor is dangerous or something. Did I tell you to bring your green spread and drapes along home, they should be brightened up. Don't bring any more books than absolutely necessary, as you thought you would read last summer and you didn't and probably the same thing will happen this summer. Bring all your electrical equipment such as recorder phonograph and typewriter along home, radio etc. Do you think we'll need a carrier for the top of the car, will you have more than last year. Dad saw some for sale and didn't know whether to buy one or not.

The weather is still funny here, we only have a hot day once in a while the other days are cool and rainy. How's your cold by this time, if it's still hanging on you should go to sick bay and maybe they could give you something to clear it out of your head. I have been feeling much better, only the medicine the doctor is giving me makes me so constipated and the membraines [sic]in the head and throat so dry. They're pills to relax the stomach and so they relax the bowels muscles also and no BM. Good old prune juice.

Last week we had club at the Dietz's. Saturday and Sunday I housecleaned your room, so it's all ready for you, you can come any day now. Yesterday I took off again and started to clean the living and dinning [sic] room, what a mess I didn't get finished and we have club at home this week, so I'll have to hurry. Last night I went to Ceramic Bridge the last meeting of the year and won first prize, a bottle of gold, how nice. Tonight I'm supossed [sic] to help sort rummage for the sale tomorrow.

Dad took some pictures of the colored elks on parade Sunday, they should be quite interesting also some pictures of the side walk art display. I'm enclosing a clipping of Mrs. Owen.

Take care of yourself and we'll be seeing you soon. Everyone is okay here.

Love,
[unsigned but written by Pat's mother]
