Friday Afternoon
Dear Pat:
Received your letter yesterday and was glad to hear that you enjoyed your week-end with Judy's brother. Also sorry to hear that your Physics prof. is leaving as I believe that you were just getting acquainted and on to his methods. Now you'll have to start all over again.
Sorry to hear that Judy is sick and tell her to take care and get well soon. And you do the same don't take chances on getting a cold,
butand dress decent. Have you worn your little red dinky hat yet?We mailed your shoes and blouse & waist yesterday. We made them in two separate packages. If the shoes aren't comfortable or they're too small don't wear them but bring them along home in March. If they're okay wear them and throw your other ones out.
Last night on the way home from the A & P, we stopped at Bertie's to water her flowers and the house was down to 40°, her furnace had gone out so she had to wait until around 11 until the service man came.
We had our first snow yesterday and today it's all gone. The roads were very bad and icy, you slipped all around just trying to drive along. Two men were killed. It's also been very cold. I guess you got some more ice skating in. Harold says your ankles aren't weak it's all in your head. He said if you don't think about your ankles you can skate without any trouble. Put as much emphasis on one foot as the other. He said just by lifting first one foot and then the other you can skate all around without any effort, why not try it. Remember your ankles aren't weak it's your head.
Enclosed are some stamps. [no longer with the letter] Grandma contributed $1.00 toward them, so thank her.
Everyone is well. Take care of yourself and lots of luck on your exams. Tomorrow is Aunt Mary's birthday, send her a card even if it is late.
Love
Mother
