A Letter Written around Feb 24, 1955

Dear fatheaded one,

Here are the tickets for the 23rd of March [no longer with the letter], and let me explain my stupidity. Youse said, the 23rd. P. McArdle, from Boston, Mass, said that all schools in Mass. don't have school the week of Feb. 23. Therefore, methinks aha! Feb. 23, and promptly scuttled down to the box-office. Oh, well, such is life.

I'm designing the set for one of the 3 one-acts the Workshop is putting on. It's Saroyan's "Hello, Out There" and a rather weird one, at that. The scene's a country jail - and that's absolutely all the stage directions say. Or, "Girl enters at the side," "Man enters." I had a lovely time with it, and now we've narrowed it down to 2 sketches, which I'll show Frank, and we'll decide which is the best - and quickest, seeing as the plays are March 11 and 12.

No time to write more now. Later, then.

Love,
Janie
