A Letter Written on Feb 24, 1955

Thursday Afternoon

Hiw [sic] Honey!

We still haven't heard how you are unless there is a letter at home today. I hope your cold and sore throat didn't get worse. Send me a card and let me know right away. Aunt Bertie came home with the news yesterday that you were sick in bed with a cold, the news came via Phil's father. Phil was also in bed sick for about a week and they don't have any doctors at his school. The boys had to take care of him, but I guess you heard all of the news from Phil. He also got some 95 and 97 in his marks, Mr. Sievers wanted to know how you did and when you were coming home. Phil is liable to come up to school to see you over the holidays, if he misses you at home, and if you take that summer camp job he'll have a fit. Where does Fitch live and do you have a picture of him, I'd like to see what he looks like. If you go to the dance over the week-end be careful and don't catch more cold and have a good time.

Grandma called this morning and said she received a letter from Judy, she's also wondering if you are sick.

Grandma is continueing [sic] to come along nicely, only I'm afraid she's going to mind staying at home all by herself too long. I'd like to keep her home next week yet and maybe another week, we havn't [sic] asked the doctor as yet. Did I tell you she had some stiches [sic] out and is having the rest out this Saturday. From what I saw of the incision, it looks pretty nice. It will be something like your appendix scar. My, she's still getting a lot more flowers and cards. Lurlie and Sellman were up to see her yesterday.

Tuesday night I played cards at Janes. [sic] We sneaked an extra game in. Mildred and Mae were there. Last night I had a committee meeting for the Club fair next fall, seems kind of early for that doesn't it, but we had to get the list of names ready for the patron list.

Do you think you will have to go to the dentist or eye doctor when you're home this time, if you do let me know and I'll try and get you an appointment. I made an appointment for the eye doctor for myself yesterday for March 26th and maybe I'll have to cancel it as daddy thought maybe you would want to go to Philly that week-end to look at Tape Recorders.

Have you completed your English paper as yet and your French paper?

I forgot to enclose the article I said I was enclosing in my last letter. I'll try and remember to enclose it in this.

Everyone is okay here. It's to snow again tonight. Yesterday was a beautiful day and warm too, the kind that spoil you and make you believe Spring is coming.

Well I guess this is all for this time. LET US KNOW HOW YOU ARE. Have a good time over the week-end and be careful.

Love,
Mother
