Saturday
Dear Pat,
All right, so I'm stoopid. I've been slightly dazed lately anyway, what with homework, stage designing, etc. This time I really have enclosed those blasted tickets. [no longer with the letter] And if they're not right I'll shoot my ugly little self.
We had a meeting for the directors, set designers, etc, with Dolph and Norris Houghton
Thu(excuse me, wrong day) Friday noon. Dolph introduced Mr. Houghton and me. He's very nice, likes my design, suggested how I might get the "nowhere" effect I want. Then this afternoon I watched a rehearsal of "Hello, Out There." Judy Yedlin is an excellent director, as well as actress. The people she has are good, too. I think it will be a very professional performance. Hope my set lives up to it.Now it's my turn to be worried. It's been almost a month and no letter from Witch & Co. For some reason I feel as though something's the matter. Probably all a lot of bunk, but there it is. I wish you'd hurry up and go home, darn it. I want to know what goes. At the moment, we're all of us feeling the mid-season blues, so I guess that's one reason for my "premonition". One month almost down, one to go. How you poor Holyoke dames have stood the long grind I'll never know.
Now I've gotta go see Frank about my lighting. Life is real, life is earnest. Write and tell me how ça va; cherie.
Love,
J.
