Thursday Afternoon
Hi Honey:
Well, so you couldn't let Grandma get ahead of you. It wasn't necessary for you to get jealous of her being in a hospital, to the extent that you landed there yourself. How are you doing by this time. No need to say that the rest will do you good. I sort of thought you'd make the week-end before you had your let-down. No kidding though I hope you are doing fine and in the future take care of yourself. Wet feet is one of the main things to avoid for sore throat. Has your case advanced to more than the head and throat. We also received a form letter from the doctor telling us about you. if [sic] you haven't time to finish your blue books and things, maybe you better give up some of your extra curricular activities, as you won't get marked on them. Maybe next year your schedule won't be as heavy and then you can do more on the outside.
I wasn't quite sure whether Fitch was with you to the dorm dance or not. How come you missed the Snow ball dance, I thought you had a date for it. Isn't that the big dance of the year.
Aunt Bertie has been doing Grandma's baby sitting job and I don't think Grandma likes it too much. Professional jealously [sic] or something. Grandma came in town today and had lunch with me and then we did a little shopping. Grandma's getting tired of sitting at home by herself with nothing too much to do, if she could do some heavy work like cleaning, she wouldn't get so bored. She might try to go to work next week, maybe only one-half days at a time. Things are beginning to perk up here for Easter and some of the things are nice looking. I got a new topper of sort of fuzzy material in beige. I guess you can wear it too. I also want to get a dress for Easter, I figure I can get more wear from that than something else. What are you planning for Easter, another pair of Bermuda's.
We had club last Saturday at the Hipples [sic] and the person that took Ricky's pocketbook threw it in the mailbox, minus the money and Eleanor had just received it from the postmaster. Eleanor said no wonder they picked on him, as his wallet looked like it had a lot of money in it, but was only pictures, papers and etc. It must look like yours.
We went to see Sabrina last tuesday [sic] and it was very good and I think we will go to see Rear Window Friday night. Dave gave me some free passes. For a change two good pictures were showing.
Tonight we have club at Mae's. Good thing you [are] learning to play bridge, you can fill in sometime for us.
Everyone is okay here. How about letting me know from day to day how youare. [sic] If it's only a card, and for goodness sake take care of yourself and dress decently.
Love,
Mother
