Wed. Afternoon
Hi Honey:
Well how's things going. Did you write that all important letter as yet? foolish question, I guess. I hope you weighed things thoroughly before you made your decision.
By the way here's a surprise for you, We're coming up for Parents Day. Glad or not? We just decided last night and sent the application in on the last day. We also ordered tickets for the play, but I don't know if dad included a check for them or not, I'll have toask [sic] him. We also asked for tickets for the water ballet in the afternoon. Daddy thought he'd go along to class with you Saturday morning, if we got there in time. and then we can or cannot watch the canoe regala [sic] in the morning. The way we have to do it is to leave for there right afterwork [sic] Friday night and drive until somewhere up in Conn. and try to get a Motel for overnight and then try and reserve it for the next night, if it's close enough. We will only be there for Saturday, as daddy wants to get an early start back Sunday morning before everyone else does. Probably we could bring some of your winter clothes along back as you'll have only about three more weeks of school, so try and think of things for us to take back, probably your record player and other stuff like that if you won't use it. By the way what are you planning to wear, you don't have anything in particular there. Yesterday I bought a dress at Leeds for you, I hope it fits. We tried to measure it with some of your other dresses and had grandma try it on. If it doesn't fit and is too long, you can mail it home again and we'll try and fix it and bring it along. If it's too long, have Judy put pins in where the hem should come up. I'll also try and get a pair of shoes. You could also use another dress and you might try to get one up there. Don't pay too much, no more than about 16 or 17 dollars. This one I got is a cotton. Should we bring any of your other summer dresses along up. I hope our coming won't upset any other plans you may have made.
Did you get the cakes, okay. I also want to send you pin and earrings this week if I can stop and get them back from Marion.
We got your letter yesterday, which was practically all about the theatre. How are you doing in your school work, you haven't mentioned anything about that lately, are you doing better than last semester, I hope. We still havn't [sic] heard anything about a scholarship for next year, maybe they changed their minds.
You forgot to take your post cards along with you, dind't [sic] you need them. Today is the first day that I can begin to see daylight at the office, I have been very busy ever since we took you back. And the next two weeks will be very busy too, both here and outside. They hooked me into the Mother's and Daughters banquet, sorry you won't be here, so I'm taking Grandma. I gave Grandma a permanent last Sunday and I'm getting one next Tuesday, I have to get all spruced up for Parents Day. Don't forget to do your hair, and I'll try to get this dress off this week yet, so you can try it and then keep it until then to wear. I'ts [sic] a long torso dress.
Everyone is okeay [sic] here, h ow [sic] about you? It's been both warn [sic] and cool here, it just can't settle itself. Did I tell you I planted a cherry tree in the yard. Take care of yourself and we'll see you soon.
Love,
Mother
