Dear Patty-Poo,
What a wonderful surprise to have heard from you again - so soon! It sort of came at a time that couldn't be beat. Last week was my birthday and this week, as much so as when I wrote you before, or even more, I am still suffering from many, many, ills. The only difference from this letter and the last is that it is being written from 'ye old Northwestern infirmary.' I came in last friday - it is now tuesday - and hope they will set me back in the free world sometime today. I have a combination of a double case of Asian flu and a 'strep' throat & a sore posterior from all the illustrious shots I have received - from old nurses. There are lots of young pretty ones running around, but they never seem to come my way!
The very best of luck to you on getting "Beautie and the Beastie" produced. I think it sounds delightful. Another delightful thing that you mentioned was your room. I will have to come to one of those rowdy piazza 'whamdouzies' you mentioned you had the other evening before you 'hit the books.['] Sounded like a wonderful way to start studying, but how do you study after doing it?
Right at this moment I am lying on my bed down in the 'recovery' room trying to close my illustrious ears to the Arthur Godfrey morning show, which everyone else is watching with collegiate enthusiasm. It is driving me bats!
I heard from Sis the other day and she sounds busy - not like you though - and, of course, happy. She and you are much alike in that manner - you always manage to be so happy! I admire it.
All for the moment, thanks for writing, say hello to all for me, and do write again!
much love,
Pete -Would love trousdell's address when you get it - merci -
