Tues. morning
Dear Patty:
This letter may seem a little fuzzy as I'm writing this riding in the car on our way to Philly for the day or I should say half day. We voted before we started out and it took so long. They're using the new machines for the first time.
I was glad to hear from you that you survived Sat. night okay. You sure looked so tired. I'm glad too that you had that steak dinner, I thought things would turn out that you wouldn't get any supper, so that's why I said get the steak dinner. Every so often get yourself a steak dinner, but try to eat in your dorm more often, you may not care for the food too well, but it should be a better balanced diet for you. After all that's what they pay your dietions [sic] for.
We mailed your one box of clothes yesterday and will mail the other one today in Philly, we had to get a stronger box from Leeds yesterday to put your things in.
I think your pictures turned out real well. Dad complained though on how thin your negative was.
I hope your drapes will turn out okay, all you have to do is thumb tack them in place. Grandma has some of it left if you want to use it for your new cabinet. You'll have to let her know the measurements.
What's wrong with your publicity team there hasn't been anything in the paper about your show. Mrs. Rupp asked about it and said she was looking for it in the paper. She mentioned Swayze in her lesson on Sunday & I told her you had Susie for a guest at the show, so she had to broadcast it that Susie was your week-end guest.
My kiln came, so dad's been working on it over the week-end. It's going to be wired this Wed and then I can begin my own firing.
We didn't have club Sat. night, so the Rhoades came in and we just sat and talked which we haven't been able to do for a long time. Paul's been transfer[ed ] back to York, so I guess they won't have to move to Sunbury after all. They're still trying to sell their house[.]
We should have your Xmas list along today.
I think too your cough was due to exhaustion and nerves, but you were coughing so much I was afraid your throat would be raw - that's why I wanted you to take some medication. I guess the medication is helping since the pills are on my dresser at home. I'm using the cough drops as I had a sore throat on Sunday. It's gone now.
Kim is okay again, just keep your fingers crossed, she's almost up to 6 pounds again, weighed this morning at 5 pounds. And she's beginning to play again. She goes up and visits grandma during the day.
Take care of yourself and try to get down to earth and do some lessons again.
See you soon, don't forget you have an eye appointment Friday after Thanksgiving. Everyone is okay here.
Love
Mother
