My dear Dr. Turner:

We waited most hopefully for your answer to my letter of invitation to work with us here at Yenching. Miss Boring and I were deeply disappointed at your answer but we admit that your arguments certainly are sound ones. We might possibly have beeb [sic] able to lift a little more of the burden financially but if we read your letter aright that was not the chief reason why you thought you must decline. Perhaps in some year to come you may find it possible to be a visiting professor. I am sure you would enjoy it more after we are well settled in our fine new buildings.

Please remember me to any of the Mount Holyoke people with whom you may come in contact.

Very sincerely yours,
Alice B. Frame
